One of the winter highlights in Sasebo City is the “Kira-kira Festival”, which takes place along the Yonkacho Shopping Arcade and Shimanose Park. As the name suggests, (“kira-kira” meaning “shining bright”), this festival is full of Christmas lights and decorations! In addition to the Christmas lights, there are also events and activities on the weekends! Some of the events include a dance show (Nov.23rd), a balloon carnival & parade (Nov.30th), a large charity party (Dec.18th), and a man-made snow land (only available on Dec.25th!)
